Authority & Instructors
The Institute.
We do not teach theory. We teach the exact mechanics required to spot
data errors, classify risks correctly, and read the rating bureau manuals the
way they were meant to be read.
Most insurance training looks the same
A retired executive. A slide deck. A summary you could have read yourself.
That is the model most training companies use because it is cheap to produce and easy to sell. You sit through it, click through the quiz, and print a certificate that does not change anything about the way you do your job.
We are not built that way.
The Institute of WorkComp Professionals is built on a foundation of direct experience and technical repetition. Every week, we are pulling apart actual experience mod worksheets, digging through payroll records, and reviewing audits on behalf of real professionals in the real system. We are not teaching you what we read. We are teaching you what we found last week.
Track Record
The work, not the theory
- Who we are: The Institute of WorkComp Professionals — the architects behind the WCTP designation.
- Leadership: Founded by Preston Diamond, led analytically by Kevin Ring.
- The work: Over 1,450 experience mod worksheets personally dissected. Thousands of premium audits disputed.
- Our focus: The mechanics to spot data errors, classify risks correctly, and read the rating bureau manuals the way they were meant to be read.
The Architects
The two people behind the WCTP curriculum.
Preston Diamond
Founder
Preston Diamond has spent over 60 years inside the insurance industry, and the last two decades of that career deconstructing the workers’ comp system’s most complex and convoluted rules into plain-English, logical frameworks that practitioners can actually use.
He is an Insurance Business America Hall of Fame inductee, the creator of the Conquering Zero® manual, and the person who recognized early on that the workers’ comp system was structurally flawed at its core — and that technical mastery, not sales training, was the only real fix. The WCTP designation is the next step in that vision.
Kevin Ring
Lead Workers’ Compensation Analyst
Kevin does not work from theory, he works from worksheets. He has personally dissected over 1,450 experience mod documents, building a forensic eye for the overcharges, botched audits, and misapplied manual rules that most professionals never see. He has engineered multiple experience mod analysis platforms and serves as the lead instructor for the WCTP curriculum.
When Kevin walks you through how to calculate an Experience Rating Adjustment or how to spot excluded remuneration on a premium audit, he is not teaching you something he found in a textbook. He is teaching you the exact mechanics he used to identify and fix a real-world error.
Fixing the system from the inside out
For nearly 25 years, we have taught retail
agents how to find errors.
Now we are turning that around.
For nearly 25 years, the Institute trained retail professionals to find the errors that workers’ comp risk professionals were making. We taught agents how to tear apart the premium audit. We taught them how to read the mod worksheet.
We taught them how to spot the overcharge on the experience mod. We handed them the tools to find the leaks that TPAs, underwriters, and premium auditors were leaving behind.
Now we are turning that around.
The WCTP designation takes those same blueprints and puts them directly in the hands of workers’ comp risk professionals — the people who can actually stop the errors before they happen. If you are tired of getting caught off guard by classification disputes, inflated reserves, and independent bureau rule changes that nobody on your team saw coming, this is where that stops.
Let’s get to work.
